Bathroom Turned Wine Cellar? Our Client Did Just That!

One of the truly great things about custom wine cellar projects is how you can have them fit just about any available space. That also means you can turn just about any space in your home into proper wine storage for your collection. We’ve featured a lot of DIY transformations on the blog, but here’s one for the books. Let’s check out this bathroom turned wine cellar project that is nothing short of amazing:

The client decided to convert their first floor bathroom into a decent storage for their bottles. Custom racking units were used to create the most space-efficient racking assembly possible. As can be gleaned from the photos, there is a really good variety of bottle storage options.You have the standard Individual Bottle Columns and High Reveal Displays, Open Diamond Bins with Solid Face Trim, as well as Curved Corner Wine Racks. But in addition to that, the clients went for this gorgeous Quarter Round Display with glass shelves. The standard Quarter Round Display incorporates all-wood materials. Here you can see how the display was customized to suit the customer’s preference:

Another custom job was this shelving for magnums and other larger-format bottles. It is conveniently tucked into the wall, conserving a lot of floor space. You will also notice how this particular set-up allows for label-forward storage. We love how versatile the wine racks are, taking into account these larger-format bottles. This is one of the big advantages of custom wine racking units. You can have racks that will fit accommodate your collection while working with the allotted space.

Last but not the least, take a closer look at these wine racks. You will notice that they have a polished sheen about them. This is thanks to the lacquer coating that was applied to the wood. Lacquer is one of the most popular finishes for wine cellar projects because it gives off an elegant appeal. Essentially, multiple applications of a clear coat sealant are done on the wood. This is coupled with intricate hand-sanding treatments between finishes. The result is a smooth, gleaming finish to the wine racks which exude elegance and good taste. And indeed, this project was a satisfying accomplishment for our client who, at the end of the day, had this to say:
